The recruiter is responsible for full life-cycle recruiting: recruiting and sourcing excellent talent, screening and recommending placement of staff by using creative sourcing methods (internal and external).  Develop recruiting strategies in support of organizational staffing goals and recruiting a diverse workforce.  Execute recruiting strategies including representing PPGOH at job fairs, universities, and other recruitment mechanisms to deliver appropriate job candidates for assigned positions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ascertain recruitment requirements by evaluating organizational development plans.
  • Assess assigned positions to develop job descriptions and job candidate profiles.
  • Ensure PPGOH is staffing a diverse and inclusive workforce that meets our organizational needs and strategic priorities. 
  • Partners with hiring manager to determine staffing needs.
  • Develop effective recruiting plans and strategies designed to foster a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Sources highly qualified and diverse candidates.
  • Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), administers appropriate assessments and reference/background checking, makes recommendations for hire (or not hire) and delivers employment offers for both exempt and nonexempt position openings within an assigned territory.
  • Serves as an expert for recruiting candidates for all departments of the organization.
  • Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
  • Works collaboratively with departments to develop advertising/communications (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
  • Manages internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring manager, transfer offer letters, etc.
  • Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting process.
  • Develops and maintains an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to ensure achievement of staffing goals. Extends offers of employment within company procedures.
  • Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, noncompete agreements).
  • Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance.
  • Works collaboratively with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to achieve hiring and retention goals.
  • Manages internal/external candidate activity in an applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Manages application/resume file and retention according to company policy.
  • Maintains memberships and affiliations with trade/professional organizations related to industry.
  • Keep current with sourcing strategies and industry trends
  • Ensures regulatory aspects of the full cycle recruitment practices are compliant with federal and state laws.
  • Participates in On-Boarding and Off-Boarding activities as assigned.
  • Assists with other Human Resources activities and associate relations as needed.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.


  • There are no current supervisory requirements; however, will engage and provide direction with various organizations, vendors, etc. in carrying out duties of this position.

  • Bachelors’ Degree in education, communications, human resources, or health related field preferred but not required.  Background in health care agency/environment, educational setting, volunteer, social service or preferred.  Course work in human resources preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in talent acquisition/health care staff recruiting, preferably supporting a multi-site organization.
  • A strong dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve recruiting goals of organization
  • Demonstrated leadership in maintaining positive associate relations.
  • Strong commitment to the goals and philosophy of Planned Parenthood and the ability to communicate those goals and agency values to associates, volunteers, applicants and community contacts. 
  • Commands a working knowledge of HR technology applications/platforms to support recruitment
  • Knowledgeable of HR technology applications/platforms to support efficient workflows and integration w/other organizational technology (Finance, Risk, Facilities, IT, etc.)


  • Travel to affiliate locations, local events with the Ohio regional area – 25%
  • Occasional travel out of state for conferences, trainings



Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents, including employment laws and regulations.  Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. 




Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Valid Ohio Driver’s License; proof of insurance
